1. Internal Project Name & Respondent Pitch

Internal Name

The Internal Project Name is only visible to you and your teammates. It serves as a reference for your team on the main project dashboard.

Project Title (Participant-Facing)

The Project Title is visible to participants and acts as their first impression of your study. Think of it as a headline that grabs attention. Respondents refer to this as the project's hook.

Tips for a Strong Project Title:

  • Be specific and engaging.

  • Highlight the unique aspect of your study.

Example:
Seeking seniors with a pet!
Looking for seniors who believe their pets improve their quality of life.

Respondent Pitch

Use this section to build upon your Project Title by providing a brief description that helps participants understand the goal of your research and determine their fit.

Example: Are you a pet-owning senior? If you're 55+, we want to learn more about your relationship with your furry friend—how your pet enhances your quality of life and the daily activities you enjoy together.

2. Define Your Target Audience & Select a Research Method

Audience

You can select from:

  • General Population: Open to participants regardless of job title or industry.

  • Industry Professionals: Individuals with expertise in a specific field.

Project Topics

Select relevant project topics to help the Respondent match your study with the best participants.

Research Method

Choose how you will conduct your research from the following options:

  • Remote or In-Person

  • One-on-One Interviews

  • Focus Groups

  • Unmoderated Studies

  • Surveys

  • Diary Studies

Note: Respondent continues to enhance features for Unmoderated and Survey-based research, including new third-party integrations.

Duration

Specify the estimated time each participant will be required for the study.

We’ve been tinkering under the hood and putting in some long days to unlock more impressive features for our Unmoderated and Quantitative (Survey) methodologies, including some amazing new integrations.

3. Set Incentive Payments

Offering a suitable incentive is key to attracting quality participants. The appropriate incentive depends on the following:

  • Study duration

  • The complexity of the research

  • Type of participant being recruited

Payment Method: Respondent processes incentive payments exclusively via PayPal.

4. Choose the Target Number of Participants

Use the slider to set the number of participants you need. The Respondent will automatically recruit up to 2x your target number to ensure you have a pool of qualified candidates.

Example:

  • Target Participants: 25

  • The Respondent will recruit up to 50 potentially qualified participants.

Location Settings

Select the geographic reach of your recruitment:

  • Worldwide

  • By Country

  • By State (US)

Distance Guidelines:

  • Remote studies: Participants are recruited within a 250 km radius of each selected city.

  • In-person studies: Participants are recruited within 100 km of the specified study location.

Past Participation Filter

Decide whether to restrict participants based on their participation in your organization's previous studies. This filter applies only to participants who have received payments from your organization.

Final Review

Before launching your project, review your screener survey set up to ensure:

  • Your Project Title and Pitch effectively communicate your study.

  • Audience settings match your desired participant profile.

  • Research method, duration, incentives, and participant number align with your goals.

A well-crafted screener survey increases your chances of finding the right participants efficiently—ensuring your research is effective and enjoyable.
