What is an Organization? How do I set up an Organization?

When you first sign up for Respondent, you'll be prompted to either create or join an Organization (ORG). An ORG is essentially a collaborative account where you and your colleagues can create and manage projects together. You can even divide your Organization into Teams.

Organizing your Teams

All Teams live inside the ORG.

Some things are specific to a Team, like your Projects, Participant Database, and payment methods. These cannot be transferred from one Team to another.

You can invite Members from your ORG to join your Team. See more on how you can invite colleagues to your organization.

Please note, that if you assign a team member to multiple teams, only the teams they are assigned to will appear on the Team dashboard when logging in*.

Roles

There are three Roles in an Organization and a Team:

Owners may edit that ORG or Team's settings, from profile details, billing information, and other members.

Admins can manage other members as well as billing information and settings.

Members can view and edit projects, and invite other members, but cannot edit billing information or other ORG or Team settings.

Note: Just because you have a role in the ORG doesn't mean you will have that same status in every team within your ORG. In other words, it's common for someone to be a Member on the ORG level but the Owner of a Team. You can also be part of multiple ORG & Teams and have different roles within each.

*A teammate has visibility into all of the Teams across the ORG if they click on Browse Teams.
