The more complete your profile is, the better Respondent can match you with studies that fit your background. Researchers use your profile details like your job title, industry, skills, and personal demographics to find the right participants for their studies.

Where to Find Your Profile

Go to Settings from the top navigation bar. Your profile is organized into sections on the left sidebar:

  • Profile info: Personal details and preferences

  • Professional background: Employment and skills

  • Social accounts: Linked social media profiles

  • Account settings: Email, password, and account preferences

  • Referrals: Your referral link and earnings

Your profile completion percentage is shown at the top right of the Settings page. The higher your completion, the better your chances of being chosen for projects.

Profile Info

Under Profile info, you'll find two main areas:

About Me

This section covers your personal demographics and background. It includes fields like age, gender, education, income, and other details that help researchers understand who you are. You'll see a completion tracker showing how many fields you've filled in.

Why it matters: Many studies target specific demographics β€” a particular age group, education level, or income range. Filling these in ensures you're matched with studies you actually qualify for.

Topics You Like

Select up to 5 topics you're interested in. The project list you see will be prioritized based on your selections.

Why it matters: This helps surface the most relevant studies for you on the Projects page, so you spend less time scrolling and more time applying to studies that fit.

Profile Insights

Below your profile info, you'll see Profile insights β€” a breakdown of categories with their own completion trackers:

  • Technology & Device: Your devices, platforms, and tech usage

  • Product & Services: Products and services you use

  • Health: Health-related details

  • Shopping: Shopping habits and preferences

Each category shows a progress bar (e.g., 3/7) so you can see exactly where to fill in more details.

Why it matters: These details help researchers filter and target specific participant profiles. The more you fill in, the more study invitations you're likely to receive.

Professional Background

Under Settings β†’ Professional background, you'll find fields related to your work and skills:

  • Job title

  • Seniority level

  • Industry

  • Work setting

  • Company size

  • Skills

  • Military service status

  • Programming languages

  • Cloud platforms

  • AI coding tools

  • Design & Prototyping tools

  • Productivity software tools

Professional background fields

Why it matters: Filling in your professional background unlocks access to B2B (Industry Professional) studies, which typically offer higher incentives. You'll also see a banner on the Projects page prompting you to "Unlock High-Incentive Projects" by adding your employment info.

Tips to Maximize Your Profile

  • Fill in everything you can. Even fields that seem minor can be the difference between getting matched to a study or not.

  • Keep it accurate. Respondent verifies participant profiles to maintain quality. Misrepresenting your background can lead to disqualification or account suspension.

  • Update regularly. Changed jobs? Moved? New skills? Keep your profile current so you're matched to the right studies.

  • Remember the 7-day lock. When you edit certain profile fields, they'll be locked for 7 days before you can change them again. Review carefully before saving. Learn more about profile edit locks.
