A participant profile photo helps researchers identify you in their studies, and helps make you more appealing and more likely to be selected for participation. A good profile photo is of you, not someone else and not a pet, object, landscape, or cartoon or avatar. Think about what makes a good professional headshot for platforms like LinkedIn, and the same applies to your profile photo on Respondent.

How to upload your participant profile photo:

  • You will be asked to upload a participant profile photo when you create your Respondent participant account. If you face an issue, you can change or update your profile photo by logging into your Respondent account and going to "My Account," then "Edit Profile."

  • You will see an option at the top of the page to "Change Picture."

If you profile picture fails to upload or errors out/I am unable to upload a photo, follow these steps:

  • Please know that limited file types are supported for profile uploads. For best results, please ensure you are using a .jpeg or .jpg file type.

  • All photo uploads regardless of file type must be under 5MB in size.

  • Some internet browsers can make photo uploads tricky - we recommend using Google Chrome or Apple Safari for best results.

If your profile picture still fails to upload after troubleshooting with the above steps, please do the following:

  • Provide your full name as it appears on your Respondent participant profile, as well as the email address associate with your account.

  • Provide your User ID/Participant ID number.

  • Include the photo that you would like you use/upload the photo you would like to use to the chat and we will attempt to upload it for you manually on the platform backend.
