What the AI Interviewer is, how it runs your interviews, and when to use it.

The Respondent AI Interviewer runs your interviews for you, and you step in for the conversations that call for a human. It conducts in depth, AI moderated interviews with our verified Participants, asking your questions, probing with intelligent follow ups, and adapting in real time. Every session is recorded and transcribed as it completes.

When to use it

  • The depth of an interview, at the scale of a survey. The AI runs hundreds of conversations in parallel, so you hear the full why behind every answer, not just the handful you could schedule by hand.

  • From question to insight in days, not weeks. No recruiting calls, no scheduling, no manual note taking. Interviews run on their own and transcripts land the moment each one closes.

  • Every interview is a strong interview. The AI never rushes and never misses a follow up, and it asks every Participant the same sharp questions. Backed by a verified panel with a 0.3% fraud rate, your inputs are as reliable as your method.

How it works

From setup to results, an AI Interviewer project runs in a few stages:

  1. Describe your Project, and the AI drafts the title, description, goals, targeting, and Screener for you to refine.

  2. Build your Screener and interview, the questions that decide who qualifies and the questions the AI asks the people who get in.

  3. Launch and recruit from the Respondent panel.

  4. Let the interviews run. The AI conducts each session and records and transcribes it as it completes.

  5. Review your results on the Results tab, from AI summaries to full transcripts.

When you need a human, step in yourself

Live moderated interviews are fully supported on Respondent. Run one as its own project, or hand pick Participants from an AI project for a deeper one to one. Use your own video tool or meet in person, and the recording and transcript come back to you.
